CONTEXT

  • Global Gallery -12 Week Sprint

  • Queer people around the world face a variety of systemic challenges. The objective of this work is to help sustain the lives of queer artist by connecting them with communities who value their work.

  • The research showed that buyers were deeply invested in ethical global commerce.

CHALLENGE

  • To build connection and trust with the artist the project needed to include efficiency & manage large amounts content, while simultaneously avoiding over-stimulation to the viewer with cluttered design and an overload of information.

  • Focus was placed on the inspiration behind each individual piece. As well as the back story behind the artists work.

We took a look at other platforms to understand best practices and to determine what we wanted to improve upon.

  • Streamline user experience for both buyers and sellers, prioritizing simplicity.

  • Tackle concerns around rising fees to ensure a fair and transparent platform.

  • Emphasize the website's convenience for merchants, offering an easy solution for brand recognition and attracting traffic.

  • When purchasing art buyers were influenced by the artists story and the message behind the art work.

  • Buyers put a lot of effort into their personal aesthetic, and prefered to by art that matched their look.

  • Buyers valued verified reviews so they can better understand when making purchasing decisions

  • The perspectives of other customers helped them determine if they trusted the seller.

  • Buyers also valued transparency. They wanted to be sure artist were not being exploited.

The goal of the product page as a whole is to display the product in an aesthetically pleasing manner, build trust in the artist, and build an emotional connection between the buyer and the artist. For this reason our goal is to create a minimalist, yet friendly design that will not overwhelm the buyer.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

The Artist Spotlight highlights brief details about the artist and why they created the specific piece of work the user is viewing This also links the user to the Artist About section to get a broader description of the artist overall It’s building a connection will mean that customers will support them

IN REAL LIFE

The Product detail page is image heavy and focused on showcasing the artist’s work to help the user feel more connected with the product and the person that created it

Augmented Reality Visually displays the work in the users space allowing them to view it in a familiar atmosphere. This helps to establish trust and connection

TRUSTED & VERIFIED

The Verified Reviews section supplies the user with additional information about the product and the artist from real experiences

For this feature we created a collapsible menu for customers to control how much information they wanted to view
